It is located on the 7th & 8th floor of the Pavilion for Women Tower and is a private room unit with a transition area. The private bed unit fosters teamwork and collaboration amongst the nurses. Babies admitted to this unit are born in the Pavilion for Women Labor and Delivery unit or may have transferred in from other facilities. A team of NICU-specialized nurses, providers, respiratory therapists, social workers, child life specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, music therapists, care coordinators, and pharmacists come together to care for our patients and families. TCH PFW NICU RN’s will be responsible for caring for critically ill neonates and infants requiring complex care and the highest level of support. Our teams provide complex medical and surgical care to patients born at 22 weeks or greater with multiple diagnoses, including but not limited to respiratory distress requiring Bubble CPAP, NIPPV, High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation, and Jet Ventilation.
