This Team is interprofessional representing expert nurses, physicians, mid-levels and support personal providing compassionate and personalized care to every patient who comes through our doors. Our Emergency Department has 65 private patient bays, a dedicated waiting room for our pediatric patients, and dedicated space for our behavioral health patients. In addition, this new layout has allowed for a new patient care model designed to provide high-quality, efficient care and reduce unnecessary wait times with the addition of dedicated Radiology space within the ED. We provide both adult and pediatric emergency care, Level III trauma center, highest-ranked Stroke Center and the first hospital on the North Shore to offer advanced care for sexual assault patients. Our department leadership is very visible on the unit, offers an open-door policy and transparent conversations. The front-line staff are invaluable with feedback when workflow or standard work changes are necessary for better outcomes. This transition program involves didactic education, intensive bedside training, and preceptorship to close the knowledge gap between Level II and Level III NICU care.
