Job Overview Fairview is looking for a Nursing Assistant on the Ortho Specialty Unit at our M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This position is 56 hours every two weeks, working 8 hour night shifts, and every other weekend. Night shifts are from 11pm-7:30am. About this Unit: The 3rd Floor Orthopedic Surgical Specialty unit at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital is a newly built, 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit focused on total joint replacement and post-operative recovery. Staff also care for a variety of medical patients, offering broad exposure to different diagnoses and care needs. With a healthy, team-oriented work environment and strong support from leadership and education specialists, this unit is ideal for those who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced settings and are eager to grow their skills in orthopedic care. Responsibilities: The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse. Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include: Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding, Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams, Oral hygiene, Specimen collection/testing, Position/ambulating, Changing linens, Promptly answers call lights. We are currently hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Orthopedic/Surgical unit. This position is a .6 FTE straight Evening shifts. 8-hour shifts M-F and 12 hour shifts every third weekends. Current RN License Required. Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience is preferred. An RN position in the Orthopedic/Surgical Unit at Gillette Children's involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients under 18 who are recovering from surgery and require an inpatient stay of one or more nights.
