Advanced Heart Rhythm Care in LA If your heart rhythm doesn’t feel normal, cardiac electrophysiology helps diagnose and treat the condition, also called an arrhythmia. At the Smidt Heart Institute, our heart rhythm specialists provide comprehensive cardiac electrophysiology care, including catheter ablation and cardiac device therapy, using a personalized, leading‑edge approach. Under the supervision of a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and within the Nurse Practitioner's competence, the Nurse Practitioner provides specialized services to clinical electrophysiology patients. This includes managing and treating cardiac rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and other complex arrhythmias. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the workup and care of patients referred to the electrophysiology service. Qualifications Education: Master of Nursing Degree. Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered. Experience: One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiac Electrophysiology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. Licensure/Certifications Requirements: Current CA RN License. Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current DEA License. Current ACLS required.
