Position Summary To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Education Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. Effective 12/1/11, all new hires will need to have a BSN as a minimum requirement or a Master's degree in Nursing. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Experience Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required. Skills Physical and cognitive requirements: Position's physical requirements necessitate a full range of body motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination are also required as is constant talking and listening in English. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions. Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection control precautions and aseptic technique that successfully correct problem areas. Interpret infection control policies and procedures as necessary. Monitor infection control practices and procedures to ensure that all personnel are implementing our standard operating procedures for tasks involving exposure to blood/body fluids. Make rounds to nursing units for the purpose of case findings, review of environmental sanitation procedures, and supervisions of isolation precautions/practice. Experience Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related healthcare facility. Must possess as working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
