The Robotic RN Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and performance of the Robotic program at Kelsey-Seybold Ambulatory Surgery Center. The role and responsibilities involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of robotic systems within a facility, including managing equipment maintenance, scheduling procedures, coordinating staff training, ensuring safe operation, and troubleshooting technical issues. This role will work closely with the operating room leadership, functioning autonomously in the performance of responsibilities. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and monitor the quality and efficiency of the robot program to promote optimal clinical outcomes. The Melanoma/Sarcoma unit is a 25-bed medical oncology unit providing care to adult and geriatric patients ranging in age from 18 - 95. Four monitored beds are designated for melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, sarcoma, cervical, ovarian, thoracic and pancreatic cancer patients receiving high-dose bolus interleukin-2 and/or targeted cellular therapy requiring cardiac monitoring. Primary populations treated include: melanoma, sarcoma and GI patients receiving complex chemotherapeutic and bio-immunotherapeutic regimens and all solid tumor cancer patients receiving immune effector cell therapy. Job Summary and Qualifications The Radiologic Technologist assists the Radiologists or independently performs ordered imaging procedures specific to diagnostic imaging and related techniques, producing diagnostic images for interpretation. Radiologic Technologists must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Radiologic Technologists must maintain a high degree of accuracy in patient positioning and imaging technique. They must maintain knowledge of radiation protection and safety. Radiologic Technologists provide age specific patient care based on assessment data, current knowledge/skills, department policies/procedures and physician orders. What you will do in this role: Performs physician ordered diagnostic, fluoroscopic and interventional imaging procedures. Confirms, clarifies and verifies the physician written or verbal order prior to implementing the imaging procedure. Performs and confirms proper patient identification prior to performing the patient procedure. Corroborates patients clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available. Appropriately documents findings relevant to the imaging procedures in Technologist Notes. Prepares the patient for imaging procedures, providing education and instructions to obtain desired results, gaining cooperation, and minimizing the patient’s anxiety. Appropriately operates imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures. Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Appropriately immobilizes patients as required for the examination. Identifies, prepares and/or administers appropriate contrast media as determined by the procedure ordered. Starts and maintains intravenous (IV) access per orders when applicable to the imaging procedure. Determines appropriate imaging technique/exposure factors. Evaluates images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date). Description Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) provide specialized care for patients with complex medical needs. Our long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) offers advanced, hospital-level treatment for chronically and critically ill patients requiring extended stays. In addition, our Acute Rehabilitation Unit is dedicated to helping patients recover from the effects of acute injuries, impairments, or illnesses. With a focus on personalized care, both the LTACH and ARU collaborate with your physician to provide 24/7 clinical care, ensuring continuous support on your path to recovery. Job Summary Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel. Essential Functions Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care. Provides general nursing care such as positioning the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient, pre operative and post operative care, and application of binder or anti embolic stockings, bed bath, oral/hair/back care, changing bed linens, cleaning over bed table, and bedside stand, straightening patient room and other general care necessary during the shift. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake and output measurements accurately. Documents in a timely manner. Prepares patient room and bed for admission and transfers and ensures all necessary equipment is in room. Maintains an attractive and comfortable environment for patients with special consideration to cleanliness of room, ventilation, and lighting. Assists in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures. Assist with handling and care of patient belongings and other personal property. Answers patient call lights, telephone, and paging system and responds as appropriate. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs routine treatment procedures such as enemas, application of appliances for heat and cold. Able to release, remove, and reapply restraints to patient under the direction of an RN. Ensures patient is in proper position and alignment. Assist Registered Nurse and/or LVN/LPN with complicated patient treatment procedures. Serves and removes patient meal tray in timely manner. Assists with feeding and/or preparing items such as opening milk container, cutting food for patient. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Must read, write and speak fluent English. Must have good and regular attendance. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge. Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations. Ability to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Approximate percent of time required to travel: Performs other related duties as assigned.
