Overview The Director of Magnet and Nursing Excellence is responsible for the entire Magnet Designation process, beginning with Magnet readiness assessment, gap analysis, and ultimately ending with Magnet designation. The Director will provide leadership, planning and coordination during the Magnet application process and focus on preparation for designation, maintenance of related databases to drive business goals, and cultivation of a positive and healthy professional practice environment. This position is accountable for leading change efforts in collaboration with nurse leaders and staff while utilizing the ANCC Magnet framework of excellence to create and implement innovative staff engagement methodologies, systems and processes. The position identifies relevant nursing quality indicators, developmental needs, performance improvement and research initiatives, and other activities that sustain and advance a culture of excellence. This Nurse Leader serves as an ambassador of the Magnet program, employing a variety of communication strategies to enhance awareness of standards and exemplars throughout the department of Nursing. This position collaborates with teams at Maimonides Medical Center, Midwood Community Health, and Ambulatory locations for sharing of best practices, reporting methodologies and identification of potential duplication of effort.
