Organizes activities during the immediate pre-procedure period to ensure that all required assessments are completed and documented fully. Maintains required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards. Assumes responsibility for the efficient management of patient in the immediate post procedure period. Assists physicians in the administration of Cardiac Cath Lab examinations within scope of practice of the RN. Communicates information appropriately with Medical Staff and other members of the health care team to promote continuity of care and attainment of patient expected outcomes. Ensures implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights including, Informed consent, Clarification of patient expectations, Explanation of treatment processes, Maintenance of confidentiality of patient information, Maintenance of patient privacy through prevention of excess exposure during procedures, Ethical considerations, Handling of patient complaints. Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program 2 - 4 years related experience Required License/Certifications Current RN license in the state of Texas BLS certification, ACLS certification, EKG certification, Competency for moderate sedation
