Job Description Nemours is seeking an RN in Jacksonville, FL. The RN II provides and coordinates nursing care in partnership with the child and family and other community resources that is individualized to meet the child or family's unique needs and situation. Assumes accountability for professional practice development and supports/contributes to Nursing Shared Governance within the Professional Practice Model. Overview The Oncology Nurse Navigator (S-ONN) will interface with the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure care coordination occurs for the surgical oncology patient population across the care continuum by (1) ensuring the delivery of needed care services and the removal of barriers to care, (2) assisting patients in overcoming obstacles across the patient's care continuum as well as coping with their treatment and follow-up, and (3) building therapeutic and trusting relationships with patients, families, and all caregivers. Overview NaphCare is hiring Full Time Night Shift Registered Nurses (RNs ) to join our team of medical professionals in Jacksonville, Florida, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Jacksonville Pre-Trial Detention Facility. As a Correctional Registered Nurse (RN ), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs. *New grads are encouraged to apply - we'll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare! * Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality care that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to: Performing initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals. Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs, medical histories. Providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services. Managing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes. Responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, and ensuring timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities. Educating patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention. Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols, while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting treatment plans, and reporting any relevant information. Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within Florida Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required) Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Able to work independently and in a team Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift. Overview The Flex RN provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The Flex RN must comply with all license, certification, and training requirements required in those units. The Flex RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The Flex RN may also be required to operate in emergency response role as Rapid Response Team. Responsibilities The Flex RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. The Flex RN will be required to float to ICU/other areas holding ICU level patients, i.e. PACU, ED-ICU pod, Interventional Radiology, etc. Qualifications Required Education : Associate's degree. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
