May advise patient of preparation required for exam or additional testing and keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information pertaining to the patient’s visit Prepare and maintain exam rooms for patient arrivals. Clean and/or maintain inventory of supplies (medical included) and equipment throughout the practice. Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form. Transcribe physician’s orders to resident charts, cardex, medication cards, treatment/care plans, as required. Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care. Inform nursing personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc. Must participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested. Must perform nursing administrative functions as outlined in the job description. Must be able to thoroughly chart and document by completing and filing required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer and or discharge. Participate in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Resident’s rights. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.
