A formal shadowing/training period of 3 to 6 months will be provided to providers without prior pulmonary experience Inpatient The APP will work alongside the attending physician on the pulmonary service at our community hospital. This involves: Evaluating patients on the pulmonary consult service. This involves doing initial history/physical consultations and follow-up progress notes. Establishing appropriate medical diagnoses, ordering tests, and recommending treatment. Collaborating with all involved care teams, including other consultants. Co-ordination of inpatient to outpatient pulmonary care. There will be focus of independently seeing patient for smoking cessation and lung cancer screening. APP will order outpatient testing which includes PFT, 6MWT, MCT and radiology.
