Primary clinical responsibilities will include the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients. Requesting care for acute issues which may include also screening for all chronic diseases. The physician will also supervise mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants) involved in the care of adult patients. Key Responsibilities: Initiates an appropriate assessment of person health status, ranging from focused to comprehensive Identifying immediate needs which can be supported or the need for a referral for long term management. Performs physical examinations, performing and documenting a health history as evidenced by chart review and ability for others to understand patient needs. Consults with colleagues, specialists, and other health professionals as appropriate. Orders pertinent diagnostic tests and procedures to support recommended therapy. Supports obtaining or performs specimen collection for commonly performed blood, urine, and stool analyses and cultures. Interprets health information and establishes diagnoses consistent with the accumulated data and formulates treatment plan, ensuring timely provision of necessary health care services. Provides education and ensures understanding of members regarding the nature of the identified acute needs and further opportunities for evaluation and treatment. Participates in the supervision of mid-level providers, including Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants. Educates patients regarding health promotion and disease prevention. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the ability to meet goals and objectives, around timely, efficient care and highly reliable customer service. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job–related hazards. Maintains work area and equipment in condition required by Legacy standards. Follows Legacy’s exposure control plans/blood-borne and airborne pathogens. Participates in routine environmental audits and communicates needs as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions). Assures a safe environment by instituting appropriate control measures. Attends and completes annual required education programs. Dermatology (Instructor - Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner)

Summary The Department of Dermatology is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide care to patients for an out-patient clinical setting in one or more specialized areas, cosmetics, laser, general dermatology, and Mohs surgery, under the direction of a physician. This individual will provide patient care in the outpatient setting, with potential to assist in the operating room while working closely with faculty, residents, and clinical staff within the department. The accepted candidate will be required to provide clinical excellence, scholarly enthusiasm, and a track record of excellent clinical performance. The practitioner will have direct patient care responsibilities. Job Purpose Provide advanced care to patients in a clinical setting in the area of dermatologic specialization under the direction of a physician. Job Duties Responsibilities will include clinic evaluation, diagnosis, work up, and management of a wide spectrum of dermatologic ailments. The provider will work in collaboration within the assigned physician’s clinic, as well as their own scheduled clinics. The selected candidate will perform comprehensive histories and physical exams; order and interpret clinical tests, prescribe medications, diagnose, and develop treatment plans; educate patients/families on treatment options; and conduct follow-up evaluations. May perform such office procedures as excisions, repairs, cosmetics procedures, and biopsies. On-the-job training is available in building these skills. This position affords a tremendous opportunity for autonomy and independent patient care responsibilities. Applicants must be motivated, team oriented, flexible, and have exemplary assessment, organization, communication, and time management skills. Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations. Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic procedures in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient. Prescribes, dispenses, and administers pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments to patients. Maintains required records in the EPIC electronic medical record system and ensures that clinic-generated information is complete and up to date in the EPIC system. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording in patient medical records. Complete all documentation in a timely manner so other administrative tasks can be done expeditiously to ensure a robust operational system. Maintain records, write orders, and document progress notes in patient charts as to status, treatments, and procedures. Evaluates and modifies the plan of care as needed under the direction of the supervising physician. Provide follow-up care to patients, education, and support for patients in accordance with protocols established by the supervising physician. Communicate with physicians, patients, and the patient’s family about patient care. Collaborates with providers and practice staff in identifying appropriate patient care management. Meet or exceed productivity standards as established by section and/or department. Maintain credentialing at all times to ensure practice is not disrupted. Renew and meet all required and licensure certification requirements. Keep up with continuing medical education requirements as per college and section requirements. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Required: Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies. Experience Required: 2+ years. Summary The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide care for Plastic Surgery patients under physician supervision. This role supports the supervising physician in evaluating patients, assessing clinical needs, developing treatment plans, and independently managing postoperative follow-up visits. Job Duties Serve as a surgical first assist, demonstrating the manual dexterity required for effective surgical support. 10% Use surgical instruments and techniques, including scalpel, electrocautery, sterile technique, and adherence to operating room policies and procedures. 10% Obtain detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations for perioperative care of plastic surgery patients. 10% Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies, including x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and other appropriate procedures. 5% Develop assessments and care plans, including ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests in coordination with the supervising faculty physician. 10% Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care. 10% Educate patients on prescribed treatment plans, home care instructions, and health maintenance. 10% Maintain required clinical records and document patient status, treatments, and procedures in progress notes. 10% Provide follow-up and health maintenance care consistent with physician-established protocols. 10% Provide guidance and support to PA and NP students assigned to the service. 10% Perform other duties as assigned. 5% Minimum Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. This position is open to either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The APP will provide medical care to patients with hematologic disorders in the inpatient setting under the direction of a supervising physician. Summary The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital is recruiting Inpatient Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Advanced Practice Providers to work in the inpatient setting. Scope of practice: Covers inpatient hematology & oncology patients for either 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts during the daytime. Inpatient teams included are Leukemia/Lymphoma/Histiocytosis, Solid Tumor/Neuro Oncology/Vascular, and Hematology consults. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team including an Attending Hematologist or Oncologist to provide care for current and new inpatients on the acute care floor. Participates in multidisciplinary rounds including medical, nursing, and pharmacy personnel to provide optimal patient care. Provides all patient care for assigned patients including but not limited to daily rounding/notes, calling consults, all order writing including chemotherapy, completing admission and discharge planning and paperwork. The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Texas Children's Hospital is one of the highest volume programs in the world. The 48-bed unit is comprised of a Neonatal CICU, Pediatric CICU, and a first of its kind, Pediatric Heart Failure ICU. In addition to over 1000 congenital heart operations annually, TCH is home to an active heart failure program, a busy thoracic organ transplantation service, and one of the largest mechanical circulatory support and VAD programs in the world. In the CICU, the candidate will work alongside pediatric critical care and cardiology physician fellows, and will join the existing CICU Faculty encompassing over 30 attending physicians (comprised of individuals who are specialty trained in pediatric cardiology, pediatric critical care, anesthesia, neonatology, and internal medicine), physician Instructors training in pediatric cardiac critical care, and over 15 advanced practice providers. Job Purpose Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.
