Location BBC Bronson Battle Creek Title Registered Nurse Hematology & Medical Oncology – Full-Time (80 hours per pay period) | Bronson Cancer Center – Battle Creek Under general supervision and in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines established within the organization, the unit, and the Michigan Public Health Code, the registered nurse manages the care delivery for patients in the organization throughout the length of stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge by the following: utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation and evaluation; coordinating the care provided by other professionals; delegating selected acts, tasks or functions that fall within the scope of professional nursing practice and the abilities of patient care assistants and universal service assistants; providing selected aspects of physical care within the scope of professional nursing practice as appropriate given the patient's level of acuity and complexity of care required; and documenting and communicating during each tour of duty the patient's response to care provided, consumption of resources and anticipated needs. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. Associate's degree in Nursing required Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, must obtain within 8 years of hire Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan As of December 29, 2013, any nurse hired by Bronson who does not hold a BSN (or higher nursing degree) will be given 8 years from date of hire date to obtain. Bronson South Haven Specific : Emergency Department: SALT triage, ESI Triage, and NIH Stroke Scale to be completed within 90 days of hire date. Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC only required for FT and part -time nurses) within 6 months of hire date. Special Care Unit: All nurses in department will need to have Pediatric Advance Life Support certification within 6 months of hire. MEDICAL ONCOLOGY NURSE MAIN FUNCTION: The Level II Medical Oncology Nurse is accountable for provision of professional nursing care for Falck Cancer Center (FCC) patients, family members and care givers in collaboration with the oncology services team, assuming an expanded role. Responsible for helping the patient, family and care giver understand the effects of cancer and its treatment and providing instruction and support for meeting daily needs, assuming an expanded role, which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. Job Description Nemours is seeking a Nursing Assistant for 5 West -Hematology Oncology Transplant and Cellular Therapy unit. This is for eight 12-hour shifts in a 6-week schedule, 12 hour rotating shifts with weekend and holiday requirements. 5 West is a 24-bed unit has been designated as the Hematology/Transplant and Cellular Therapy and Endocrine unit for the Nemours/ Alfred I. du Pont Hospital for Children. This step-down unit provides inpatient care for pediatric patients requiring services from the Hematology/ Oncology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy, and Endocrine subspecialties. Admitting diagnoses include but are not limited to leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, neuroblastomas, solid organ malignancies, sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, and other types of genetic and immune disorders. In addition, stem cell and bone marrow donors are cared for on this unit. The type of patient care provided in this area is complex due to patient diagnosis, the intensity of therapy, the criticality of patient condition, and the extensive patient/family issues that necessitate nursing intervention. This position can flex to all units in the hospital as well to the hematology oncology clinic as needed. Essential Functions Ensuring a clean and safe patient care unit, assisting patients with activities of daily life (bath, feed, play, etc. Collects patient specimens (blood, urine, stool, other per policy), paying close attention to patient safety, comfort, and accuracy of information.
