Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours per week Shift: Night, 7:00am-7:00pm, rotating weekends and holidays Unit Highlights: PCU Surgical Oncology (WT12) is populated mostly by gynecologic oncology patients. These are women with ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulva, & endometrial cancers. We typically see these patients when they come in for surgery, either to have their mass removed or a total abdominal hysterectomy. Any empty rooms are typically filled with overflow from the other oncology units, so we see all types of cancer on this unit. Primary Job Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Some functions performed in the clinic include Leukopheresis (MNC/HCP/P Collections), and Extracorporaeal Phototherapy Procedures. This unit contains 9 treatment spaces, where cell collection and photopheresis procedures are performed. We currently care for 10-20 daily outpatient patients (with occasional inpatient patients) between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday through Friday. The weekly shifts for this position will be four 10 hour shifts with the possibility of schedule adjustments. Position Highlights This is a Full Time Day shift position. The Apheresis RN will be working in the Apheresis Department, which is part of the BMT-CI program which will include collection of peripheral blood stem cells, collection of mononuclear cells, and photopheresis therapy. The Apheresis RN must be able to work independently and will be responsible for all facets of apheresis operation and adhere to the applicable regulation and standards (e.g. cGMP, cGTP, AABB, FACT). This role may work closely with the Department Supervisor, and Manager.
