Description Shift: Rotating (7a-7:30pm; 7p-7:30am) Hours: Full-time; 36hrs/wk Entity: UNC Medical Center Location : Chapel Hill, NC Come join our dedicated and supportive team focused on excellence in patient care and outcomes. The CICU provides patient and family centered care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to medical cardiology patients. The CICU specializes in treatment of acute and chronic heart failure, cardiogenic shock, post cardiac arrest, STEMI and NSTEMI, noninvasive valve repair (TAVR), and vascular patients. CICU nurses are educated to successfully manage and care for patients with advanced hemodynamic monitoring, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary and permanent pacemakers, ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous dialysis, and undergoing hypothermic care. CICU nurses are also trained to serve on the adult code blue team, rapid response team, and support the cardiac cath lab. Experience in cardiology or critical care is preferred but not required. RN Clinical Nurse II (Per Diem)- 5 East Acute Burn & Wound

Description 5 East is a 15 - bed Acute Burn and Wound Unit and we function as an extension of the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center. We care for adult patients who have a burn injury and/or other type of complex wounds. The burn injuries on our unit are acute and generally less than 20% of total body surface area. We provide burn and wound care to these patients from the acute through rehabilitative phase. We also care for overflow patients from other units on the acute care surgical units and occasionally overflow form the acute care medicine units with patients including but not limited to: plastic surgery patients, diabetic wounds, and pressure ulcers. The nurses who work on 5 East are trained in medical-surgical nursing as well as burn and wound care. Our nursing team works with the interdisciplinary team to provide the best possible care for our patients. The team includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nursing assistants, physical, occupational and recreational therapists, chaplains, and rehabilitation counselors, social workers and dieticians. We are team oriented, dynamic caregivers and experienced patient advocates. We foster a professional, collaborative atmosphere conducive to learning. This position is a per diem, at will, position that requires the ability to work at least one 12 hour shift every two weeks. This position does not receive employer benefits. Monitoring nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed. Assisting with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements. Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies. Maintaining a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator. Additional Details One shift a week from 7pm to 7:30am Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience. Licenses/Certifications Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment. Current CPR Certification.
