UNC Maternal Fetal Medicine in Raleigh is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to support the care of patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies. Our team provides specialized care for pregnancies that require additional monitoring, expertise, and support. What You'll Do Partner with physicians and nurse practitioners during clinic visits to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Obtain patient vital signs, administer medications as ordered, and provide patient education tailored to individual needs. Assist with clinical assessments, care coordination, and follow-up to ensure patients receive timely, appropriate care. With advanced training, have the opportunity to manage an independent nurse visit schedule, including: Performing nonstress tests (NSTs) to monitor fetal well-being. Providing patient education on pregnancy-related conditions, treatment plans, and self-monitoring. Conducting postpartum mood checks and supporting patients with emotional well-being and appropriate referrals. Performing blood pressure checks and monitoring patients at risk for or experiencing hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to promote continuity of care and a positive patient experience. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures. What We're Looking For Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Nursing experience in an outpatient clinic, women's health, obstetrics, or maternal-fetal medicine preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills. We are a growing department as we grow with our community in Southern Wake County and surrounding areas. We provide couplet care for 3 couplets in a Level II Birthing Center, performing assessment's, evaluating educational needs and support throughout the mother and baby's stay. We provide postop care for GYN surgical patients who have had minor GYN surgeries including assessment, wound care and postop education and support. Stable antepartums may need bedrest and further evaluation and follow up non-stress tests. Our 5 Bed Tower also houses a 2-bed level II newborn nursery that our neonatal nurses care for with the support of Women’s team. We care not only for normal newborns but also neonates who may require Level II nursery care, stabilization and greater than 35 weeks.
