The Surgical RN in Endoscopy assists with many types of outpatient screening, therapeutic, and emergent procedures. Examples include: GI (upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP) and Pulmonary (bronchoscopy, EBUS, rigid bronchoscopy, pleuroscopy, pleurodesis). Advanced nursing procedures include esophageal motility and manometry, capsule endoscopy, peg placement. The Endoscopy unit has 3 procedure rooms, 5 preop bays and 6 recovery bays. Surgical RN Position Requirements Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment Certified Gastroenterology RN preferred within 2 years One year of acute experience required Endoscopy experience preferred, training agreement required for inexperienced staff Participation in unit based shared governance to facilitate strong team dynamics is required.
