Demonstrates proficiency and competency in the care of the newborn by performing: Serum bilibrubins, transcutaneous bilicheks, photo therapy, glucose screening, antibiotic administration, newborn testing, and assisting with newborn circumcisions. Demonstrates flexibility to meet department, organization and patient/family needs. May be assigned as charge nurse which includes the following duties: Maintain patient flow through the unit. Assign and adjust staffing based on patient acuity. Complete RN Charge check off list in a timely manner. Act as a liaison with the nursing house supervisor.
