Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting the assessment, plan of care, interventions, and responses to care in the electronic medical record in a time. Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions. Maintains a clean and safe work environment by handling and clearing instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection-control policies and protocols. Administers and stores medication according to controlled substance regulations. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements as per manufactures instruction or calling for repairs when required. Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies and placing orders for required inventory. Supervises clinical care provided by LPNs and Home Health Aides. Serve in an on-call rotation and provides patient care outside of regular business hours.
