This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive pediatric telephone screenings and in-person preadmission assessments to ensure patients are medically optimized and appropriately prepared for surgery. The incumbent serves as a key liaison between patients, families, surgeons, anesthesiologists, the pediatrician, and the interdisciplinary team to facilitate safe, efficient, and family-centered care. In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the Registered Nurse – Preadmissions job description, the Pediatric Preadmissions RN is responsible for: Conducting pediatric preoperative telephone screenings using established clinical protocols. Performing in-person pediatric preadmission assessments, including obtaining complete health histories, medication reconciliation, allergy verification, and required preoperative documentation.
