We provide Level II Maternal Specialty care and deliver approximately 1,750 babies each year under the care of our OB/GYN physician teams from three local clinics. Our Women’s & Infants’ team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women’s Center Outreach team. The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum obstetrical patients and their well newborn infants. The L&D RN also performs screening and outpatient care for OB Triage patients along with care to women during their post-partum recovery following vaginal or cesarean delivery. The L&D RN is cross-trained to Mother/Baby care. Moderate sedation and anesthesia are utilized. The RN is responsible for following and assessing the patient through the entire process including pre-operation, intra-operation and post-operation. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.
