Job Description Job Summary: The Patient Navigator-Registered Nurse (RN)-Cancer is a skilled oncology nurse and specializes in caring for patients eighteen years of age or older with suspected or confirmed malignancies or a hematologic disorder in the outpatient Cancer Center. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care. Case manages and coordinates the continuum of care from referral through the treatment process in collaboration with the physician and the multidisciplinary team. Proactively manages daily clinic activities to ensure efficiency and timely patient visits. Implements research protocols in collaboration with the research team. Facilitates the empowerment of the nursing profession and embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
