Develops standard processes and protocols to minimize variation, support efficient workflows, and confirm the right work is performed by the right role. Support of Clinical Operations Participates in planning and problem-solving of daily unit operations and priorities of patient services. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of unit goals and objectives. Manages, directly and in collaboration with others, staffing, scheduling, benchmarking, work redesign and variances. Organizes and facilitates unit based educational activities and in-services. Assures compliance with regulatory programs' standards related to the nursing. Provides leadership, assists and advises Administrators, Medical Directors, in satisfying other regulatory standards. Interprets and implements Michigan Medicine policies and procedures. Assists in the planning and implementation of new or expanded services and programs. Provides interface and liaison communications regarding programs external to the unit which have implications for nursing staff. Required Qualifications* Required Educational Requirements Applicants must meet one of the following: Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR Associate's degree or Diploma in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan Minimum five (5) years RN experience Minimum two (2) years of recent (within the last 5 years) RN experience in pediatric service line. Leadership experience preferred Demonstrated leadership skills including creative and effective problem-solving, ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and ability to direct nursing practice and apply critical thinking skills/judgment to a variety of situations. Nurse Leadership certification or completion of a nursing leadership certification within two (2) years of accepting this position. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care to residents and to coordinate total nursing care for residents; for participating with the Director of Nursing and the Unit Managers in establishing specific goals; for ensuring compliance with all operating policies and procedures and Michigan Department of Health & Human Services regulations and Federal Health Care Administration regulations; for communicating with and supervising appropriate personnel; for providing daily reports and other periodic reports; and for performing all the duties of a Certified Nurse Aide when required. Responsibilities* Provide expert nursing care to psychiatric patients on the Child/Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric unit. Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications* Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan. Recent Child Psychiatry experience Under Michigan Law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of employment or transfer for this position. Desired Qualifications* BSN Recent inpatient psychiatry experience and/or inpatient pediatric experience within the past two years. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F. Work Schedule Hours per week: 20 hours Shift: Evening shift, 8 hour shifts All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
