Job Description Summary MSICU is an 18-bed unit that provides care to adult patients covering various medical and surgical patient populations. The various medical diagnoses include multi-system organ failure, hematology/oncology, pulmonary hypertension, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post lung transplants. This intensive care unit also has a sub-specialty in digestive disease and cares for patients with renal, endocrine, liver disease, GI surgery and GI hemorrhage, pancreatitis, and islet cell transplants. Job Description Summary 5W Burn Trauma Stepdown Unit is a 25 Bed Stepdown Unit at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. 5W is a unique unit at MUSC and within the state as the only Burn Stepdown unit. All nurses are trained in complex burn dressing changes and are supported by members of the Burn Team and Free-Floating Charge Nurse. Robust unit leadership supports onboarding of new graduate nurses and monitor quality metrics. Our nurses work collaboratively with the Burn Physician Team, Trauma Physician Team Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Case Managers, and Social Workers to customize care for patients. 5W offers opportunities for nurses to obtain Med-Surg, Burn, and Trauma certifications. Job Description Summary MSICU is an 18-bed unit that provides care to adult patients covering various medical and surgical patient populations.
