To insure quality patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the organization, this position provides direct operational support for the hospital on a shift basis, acts as a clinical resource person for the staff and acts as a liaison between staff and management, assisting the administrator in determining staffing needs and identifying problems within the campus. The RN House Supervisor provides the communication link between manager, staff, patients, physicians and others. This position serves as a resource to staff for patient bed assessment and in the planning of emergency nursing interventions. The position facilitates problem resolution and collaborates with administration, and physicians in assessing quality of care provided, identifying staff strengths and weaknesses and in evaluation of staff performance. Operational issues are identified by this position and the position works to take action and correct problems. Interface with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care planning is also required. This is a Safety Sensitive position. The CCU/IU nurse monitors the overall hemodynamic status of the critically ill patient while performing head to toe assessments, assessing all body systems, rhythms and invasive lines, tubes and drains. In the CCU and IU, the Registered Nurse is expected to administer, titrate and monitor critically ill patients on critical medications Many of these patients are post-surgical and require intense monitoring. They are able to communicate appropriately with the physicians and surgeons any concerning status changes or body system specifics that may require further intervention. CCU/IU nurses operate and are trained on life saving advanced medical equipment including but not limited to ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon pumps, Assistive Heart pumps, Continuous Dialysis machines, Hypothermia induction and maintenance devices, defibrillators and others. CCU/IU Nurses are required to stay current with both BLS and ACLS certifications. The Registered Nurse in CCU functions in units we call pods. This design allows the OHH nurse to maintain a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse patient ratio in the Critical Care Department and a 1:3 nurse patient ratio in the Interventional Unit. This allows CCU/IU nurses adequate time to monitor and care for critically ill patients thus ensuring the highest quality, safe and patient-focused care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program. Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure. Current BLS certification required at the time of hire and ACLS certification within 18 months of hire. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting preferred. CCU/IU Nurses are required to stay current with both BLS and ACLS certifications. The Registered Nurse in CCU functions in units we call pods. This design allows the OHH nurse to maintain a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse patient ratio in the Critical Care Department and a 1:3 nurse patient ratio in the Interventional Unit. This allows CCU/IU nurses adequate time to monitor and care for critically ill patients thus ensuring the highest quality, safe and patient-focused care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program. Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure. Current BLS certification required at the time of hire and ACLS certification within 18 months of hire. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting preferred.
