Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Department : Operating Room Daily Work Times: 6:48 am - 4:18 pm Shift: Variable Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours : 72 Position Summary: Collaborates with physician to provide a plan of care that will return the patient to optimal health. Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders. Delegates to and oversees Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Associate, OB Care Associate, Surgical Service Assistant, Nursing Clerk and Psychiatric Tech functions. Unit Based competencies for Operating Room Department Specific Duties: Must be able to function as OR RN circulator leading the surgical care team in a variety of specialty services lines. Able to safety assess, administer and monitor patients receiving moderate sedation including ASA classifications. Must be able to interpret cardiac rhythm strips requiring interventions. Maintains aseptic practice and initiates actions necessary to ensure aseptic technique for all surgical situations Ensures safe and appropriate surgical preps and positioning of patients throughout procedure. Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in the state of Michigan.
