Provides medical services to patients in an ambulatory or a clinic setting. This role will include rounding/patient coverage in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit as well as outpatient clinics. SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8a-5p. Primarily working at 140th & Pacific clinic, but will travel to all clinic sites: East (555 N 30th), Maple (168th & Maple), and Lincoln (575 S 70th St). MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Provides individualized medical care to patients in the ambulatory clinic setting which includes collection of relevant patient history, physical and/or mental health assessment, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Performs procedures such as I&D, splinting, suturing, or simple lesion (wart) removal, based on knowledge, skills and abilities, as applicable to clinical area. Completes timely, thorough documentation of the patient visit in the electronic medical record. Orders pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments indicated in management of the acute illness or health condition. Responds to onsite emergencies and provides prompt, and appropriate care until EMS arrives. Provides relevant education and discharge instructions to the patient/family related to the acute presenting illness or health condition and need for follow-up. Registered Nurse- Pediatric ICU (Nights)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) healthcare team. This is a 24-hour direct patient care unit with 6 private patient rooms. Patients admitted to the PICU are likely to be those with acute medical disease states. Our patients range in age from newborn to 19 years of age. We primarily care for patients with respiratory distress/respiratory failure, sepsis, status asthmaticus, DKA, status epilepticus, and post op Neurosurgery or other post-operative patients requiring ICU care. This includes patients with invasive monitoring (arterial lines, ICP monitoring, EVD monitoring), surgical drains/chest tubes, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, tracheostomies with vent support, vasopressor requirement (epinephrine, dopamine, vasopressin), and/or continuous sedation requirement (versed, fentanyl, precedex etc). This is a supportive close-knit team where the patients and their families are the center of our care. Boys Town National Research Hospital Provides nursing care to assigned youth by overseeing youth health and wellness, implementing daily nursing care routines including administration of medications, infection control management, management of emergency care for youth, assessing mental and physical status of youth, and keeping the appropriate physician and administrative staff apprised of all untoward events. Works collaboratively with all members of the treatment team and adheres to the implementation of the Psychoeducational Model (PEM) of treatment. Evening Shift: 2:30 PM to 11 PM, requires every other weekend MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Implements daily nursing care routines for youth assigned including the administration of medication, maintaining inventories of medication and nursing care items as needed, providing education about medications and other health concerns to youth and their families. Oversees the general health of youth assigned by being cognizant of infection control concerns, scheduling medical appointments for youth as necessary and accompanying them to these appointments when assigned, and assists with physician rounds in collaboration with other treatment team members.
