Job Summary: Position Summary: The Clinical Educator is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff within the hospital setting. This role supports clinical excellence, professional development, evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and patient safety initiatives. The Clinical Educator collaborates with clinical leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure staff competency and high-quality patient care . Position Responsibilities: Staff Education & Training Develop s and deliver s orientation, onboarding, and continuing education programs for nursing staff. Assess es learning needs and create s educational plans to address competency gaps. Facilitate s classroom instruction, hands-on clinical training, simulation exercises, and e-learning initiatives. Provide s education related to new equipment, technologies, policies, and clinical procedures. Includes principles of adult learning and develops content specific to target population and identified educational need . Suppor ts transition-to-practice programs for new graduate nurses. Serves as a resource to nursing students. Clinical Competency & Professional Development Evaluate s clinical competencies and maintain s competency validation records as needed . Mentor s and coach es staff to promote professional growth and clinical excellence. Promote s evidence-based nursing practice and current best practice standards. Serves as a clinical resource for employees and physicians in the management of patient care needs . Maintains own clinical competency by completing all required employee educational requirements. Quality & Patient Safety Collaborate s with nursing leadership to support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives as well as regulatory readiness activities. Examines clinical workflow and gaps in clinical process , mitigating barriers to ensure success of educational initiatives. Acts as a change agent, promoting a positive culture of adaptability, innovation, and improvement. Promotes compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaboration & Leadership Partner s with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support organizational goals. Serve s as a clinical resource and consultant for nursing staff. Participate s in committees, projects, and performance improvement initiatives as assigned . Assist s in the development and revision of nursing policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines as assigned . Program Evaluation & Documentation Track s and evaluate s the effectiveness of educational programs and learning outcomes . Maintain s accurate education records and reports. Utilize s feedback from leadership and staff , data analysis, and quality metrics to improve training programs . Professional Responsibilities Sets priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines. Builds cooperative, effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels. W ork s independently and takes initiative. Identifies and communicates needs and barriers utilizing the chain of command in a timely manner. Willingness to work off-shifts and weekends hours and take on projects or re-prioritize with short notice . Proactively anticipates, recognizes and responds to organizational and staff needs.
