Overview The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children’s is seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Neonatologists. We are looking for pediatric providers to join our neonatal hospitalist team at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. The team is open to an FNP with newborn experience or a primary care PNP for this role. The Birth Center of Nashua at St. Joseph Hospital provides labor and delivery services as well as Level I nursery care for around 600 families annually, and is designated as a Baby Friendly hospital. Their spacious unit allows personalized and state-of-the-art obstetric, post-partum, and well-baby care. The role includes hospital-based coverage 24/7 at St. Joseph Hospital. The pediatric APP will be responsible for the primary care of a caseload of well-babies, attend high-risk deliveries, serve as team leader in neonatal resuscitations and stabilization of sick infants awaiting transfer. Successful candidates will have experience with pediatrics, in either an inpatient or outpatient setting, and ideally will have experience attending high-risk deliveries and providing initial stabilization in the immediate postnatal period. Opportunities for training to expand skill set to stabilization of acutely ill infants for transport will be provided by the Dartmouth Health neonatal team. The position reports to the St. Joseph Hospital pediatric hospitalist APP Lead and the Section Chief of Neonatology. Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies and procedures. Contributes to the knowledge and skills of others, and continuously improves the quality of healthcare practice and organizational outcomes. Participates in and may lead unit level and/or organizational level committees focused on nursing practice and performance improvement. Participates in departmental and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or role performance. Practices efficient use of supplies and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area. Attends staff development in-services, department meetings, and/or nursing committee meetings. Partners with the nursing leadership team to identify professional development needs. Assumes responsibility for one’s own professional development and continuing education. Actively participates in and attends the Nurse Residency Program as appropriate to role. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Training. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Authorized by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABON) to practice as a graduate nurse and has received a temporary license. Authorized to take the NCLEX by the examination vendor. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health and Orlando Health and the unit/department. Licensure/Certification Must obtain temporary or permanent licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate RN license. Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP is required for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
