Job Requirements POSITION SUMMARY The Medical Assistant Certified provides and ensures patients receive whole care in all aspects of an office visit, regarding intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, closure of care gaps while delivering excellent customer service to the patients, families and other care Providers, focusing on patient-centered care. Tracks and communicates to patients, labs, and diagnostic studies results, as directed by the provider through phone calls, portal messages or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) buckets. This fast-paced unit cares for patients who need short-term evaluation and treatment, with a goal length of stay of 48 hours or less. In this role, the APP will manage care from admission to discharge, perform focused assessments, and work closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team, including an attending physician. Department: Inpt APP - Internal Medicine FTE: 0.90 Full Time Shift: Days Position Summary: Function in an inpatient / urgent care area of advance practice in the role of practitioner, mentor, consultant, educator, researcher and manager. Establish goals and priorities in accordance with patient and staff needs and organizational objectives. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Detailed responsibilities: * PATIENT CARE - Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans; implement treatment, follow-up and evaluate patient within the scope of practice protocols as outlined by state statute * PATIENT CARE - Perform patient history and physical exams as needed for procedures or admissions; document findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings * PATIENT CARE - Complete admitting orders, daily rounds and orders, consultations with nurses, specialist and ancillary staff, discharge summary, transfers, medication management and other orders as required for the management of patient care * PATIENT CARE - Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures * PATIENT CARE - Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic procedures and tests.
