For each patient, perform a comprehensive assessment of the chief complaint and patient needs utilizing the nursing process. Based on findings, seek solutions and offer opinions to physicians and other health care providers. Document all nursing assessments in the patient's medical record. Ensure that all documentation is clear, complete and legible. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Document all interventions in the patient medical record as appropriate. Communicate and collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments in order to coordinate appropriate patient care, as needed. Communicate with outside agencies or facilities as appropriate. Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls and results using clinical assessment skills and service standards. Communicate results/plan of care with patients by phone or MyChart per department procedure. Document all assessments in the patient medical record as appropriate. Manage urgent/emergent medical situations as appropriate and in accordance with the organization's protocols for medical emergencies and cardiac arrests. Obtain and/or operate emergency equipment according to relevant standards. Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for daily problem solving and decision-making. Maintain a consistent alertness to patient care needs and take a proactive approach to address/resolve issues. Delegate appropriate tasks according to Illinois law and organizational protocols. Comply with all existing policies and procedures related to patient care. Make recommendations to management regarding new policies and procedures that may improve the patient experience. Assure that new policies and procedures are implemented in a timely manner. Initiate and coordinate patient education. Ensure that patients understand educational materials and can exhibit return demonstration when pertinent. Answers patient inquiries with respect to medical questions within the scope of practice and practice policy. 9. Takes calls from the pharmacist. Calls or electronically submits prescriptions and prescription refills to pharmacy as directed by the provider. 10. Coordinates diagnostic and laboratory services for patients on an outpatient basis such as PT, MRIs, Bone Scans, CTs, etc. and completes proper paperwork. 11. Assists provider in examination and surgical or diagnostic procedures and treatment, as well as preps patients. 12. Marks superbill or documents EHR for any procedures and injections performed and any supplies used. 13. Makes arrangements with proper agencies for administration of patient home health care as directed by provider. 14. Coordinates provider referrals to other providers and relays proper information about the patient. 15. Maintains all clinical equipment to include sterilizing, as applicable. Evaluates all equipment for damage or maintenance needs, and reports information to the Practice Manager. 16. Checks clinical supplies and initiates the ordering process. 17. Via electronic, paper or other forms of receipt reviews and completes clinical mail for the provider when appropriate/authorized. 18. Prepares patient insurance forms completely prior to giving to provider for review and signature.

Minimum Education and Experience: Prior experience in busy medical office preferred, but not required Strong critical thinking skills Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment Ability to perform all job duties with no accommodations, including lifting up to 50 pounds, repeatedly bend and twist, and stand for 10-12 hours per day.
