REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE : Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): AHA Basic Life Support - (BLS) - Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period. AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period. Fetal Heart Monitoring If Novice or New to Service Line RN: (FIRST TIME TAKING COURSES) Intro to Fetal Monitoring (Basic FM) within 30 DOH AWHONN Intermediate FM within 9 months of hire, ensuring they have already completed Basic FM AWHONN Advanced FM within 9 months of completion of Intermediate FM If Experienced to L&D: AWHONN Intermediate FM Upon hire, must show evidence of successful completion of AWHONN Intermediate FM within the past 2 years If no completion in the past 2 yrs, must complete AWHONN Intermediate FM within 6 months AWHONN Advanced FM (AFM) If has current AWHONN completion- renew by recommended renewal date If completed AWHONN Intermediate FM in the past 2 years, must complete AWHONN AFM within 9 months of hire.
