This contract position focuses on providing personalized care for a medically complex child, with consistent weekday shifts available in the early morning (6 am 8 am) and afternoon (3 pm 5 pm). The exact hours may adjust slightly based on the childs bus schedule and assigned school location in Orchard, Oakridge, or Ravenna.

Those with a background as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN), or Certified School Nurse (CSN) will find this work both challenging and rewarding. Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active state license as a Registered Nurse or LPN
  • Previous experience working one-on-one with medically complex children, preferably in a school or pediatric environment
  • Competence with ventilator and tracheostomy care highly preferred
  • Ability and willingness to ride the school bus to and from campus with the student
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with educational staff and families
  • Detail-oriented and compassionate, able to respond effectively in sensitive situations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care and medical oversight to a medically complex student throughout transportation and the school day as needed
  • Administer medications, perform medical procedures (including vent/trach care), and monitor overall health status
  • Maintain detailed health records and ensure compliance with care plans
  • Serve as a care advocate, facilitating communication between medical providers, families, and school personnel
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies
