The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Guilderland is seeking an RN Supervisor for our Evening shift. Can be full or part-time.

Position Overview:

The RN Supervisor plays a vital role in promoting and restoring patients' health. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term planning of patient care, overseeing staff, collaborating with physicians, and providing both physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual patients, as well as others in a position to understand service needs.

  • Complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing staff.

  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.

  • Provide information to patients and the healthcare team by answering questions and addressing requests. Resolve patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations. Seek assistance from other healthcare professionals as needed.

  • Protect patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies, enforcing medication administration, and ensuring compliance with controlled substance regulations.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality by monitoring the secure processing of confidential information.

  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.

  • Oversee medical and administrative equipment by verifying the availability of emergency equipment, completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and coordinating repairs.

  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Current NYS RN Licensure (BSN preferred but not required).

  • Minimum two years of experience in Long-Term Care or medical/surgical settings.

  • Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.

RN Supervisor needed-Nursing and Rehab Facility Qualification: Current license as an RN in NYS 3 years nursing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in long term care Demonstrated competence as a nursing practitioner Demonstrated leadership and human relations skills Responsibilities: Coordinates the planning, implementing and evaluating of resident care. Makes daily environmental rounds - identifying and correcting problems. Submits an "RNS Checklist " to ADNS for each unit every month.
