
School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Independence, Missouri

Two dedicated nursing professionalsRegistered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nursesare needed for 1:1 positions supporting students with significant medical needs during the school year and Extended School Year program.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered MO RN or LPN license (verified via Nursys)
- Recent experience in pediatrics (preferably ICU, ER, or school-based settings)
- Comfortable with g-tube, trach care, wheelchairs, and seizure protocols
- Strong technology and computer charting skills
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to work with Pre-K through high school students
- Excellent communicator, comfortable collaborating with educational staff and families
- Not a new graduate; recent, hands-on clinical experience required
Position Overview:
- Work full-time, supporting 1:1 care for special needs students: one fourth-grade student with significant health needs, and one Pre-K student with a trach chain
- Meet the student at their home, ride the bus together, and deliver care in the classroom
- Support other students in the special education classroom as needed
- Serve as a clinic nurse elsewhere in the district if assigned student is absent, with the possibility of field trips and coverage in other buildings (K-12)
- Schedule:
- Through May: 35-40 hours/week, 8:15-4:45
- June ESY (125): 25 hours/week, 8:452:45, MondayThursday
