Registered Nurse School Setting - Liberty, MO

Step into a rewarding role as a Registered Nurse supporting K-12 students in a dynamic school environment near Kansas City, MO. This contract position offers the chance to float between multiple sitesincluding elementary, high school, and PreKcovering general health room responsibilities, accompanying students on field trips, and providing vital care across the district. Start immediately and work full-time through the end of the school year (May 22), with hours ranging from 35-40 per week during the current school year and 22-25 per week for Extended School Year (June 1-25, Monday through Thursday).

Your two-week orientation will prepare you to independently oversee a school health room, with schedules varying from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm or 9:00 am to 4:30 pm based on site needs. Flexibility and strong communication are essential, as weekly schedules are shared each Sunday and may change depending on field trips and coverage needs.

What youll need:

  • Active Missouri RN license
  • Pediatric nursing experience
  • Prior school nursing or community health experience a plus
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to make independent decisions
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and multitasking in a technology-driven environment
  • Willingness to work with students from PreK to 12th grade
  • Adaptability to fluctuating schedules

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing health rooms at assigned school sites
  • Providing direct care for illness, injury, and chronic condition management
  • Documenting care electronically
  • Responding to emergencies and coordinating care plans
  • Supporting students on field trips and during school events
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to promote student health
