This role is designed for a compassionate Registered Nurse seeking meaningful, one-on-one connections and a structured workweek aligned with the school schedule. You will play a critical role in ensuring student safety and facilitating access to learning, from the end of the current school year into the extended school year.
What Were Looking For:
- Active RN license with clear standing.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric nursing, especially with ventilator and tracheostomy management, G-Tube feedings/medication administration, and oxygen therapy.
- Strong background in respiratory care, including inline nebulizer use and speaking valve trials.
- Dependability and professionalism in maintaining 1:1 nursing continuity.
- Confidence in performing frequent physical assessments and interpreting vitals.
- Commitment to ride the bus with the student for transport to and from school.
- Outstanding communication abilities with young children and staff.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on, high-acuity nursing care throughout the school day to one ambulatory student (wheelchair used for bus safety).
- Safely administer daily G-Tube feedings and medications per physician orders.
- Provide vigilant vent/trach management, inline suctioning, and oxygen therapy as needed.
- Oversee respiratory support, including nebulizer treatments and encouraging the use of a speaking valve.
- Conduct ongoing vitals monitoring and adjust interventions as appropriate.
- Participate in bus duty, ensuring all safety and medical protocols are followed during transit.
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation and communicate regularly with caregivers and educational staff.
