School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | De Soto, Kansas

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
• Previous experience in school nursing or a pediatric healthcare setting preferred
• Proficiency in managing health plans for students with chronic conditions (diabetes, asthma, allergies, etc.)
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination with educators, parents, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate health and medication records per regulatory guidelines
• Current CPR and First Aid certification

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver routine and emergency care to students and staff, managing injuries, illnesses, and health-related incidents
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized health plans for students as needed
• Administer medications and perform health screenings, assessments, and follow-up care
• Advocate for healthy practices and educate students and staff on wellness and safety protocols
• Collaborate with school administration to respond to public health concerns and promote a healthy school environment
• Keep thorough and confidential documentation of encounters, treatments, and health updates
• Participate in school-wide initiatives, such as vaccination programs and health fairs
