Exciting contract opportunity for a compassionate and skilled nurse looking to make a real difference in a students life for the upcoming school year! Offering a full-time assignment, this position supports a vibrant 4th grader who is vent and trach dependent, yet verbal, mobile, and able to eat and drink by mouth. The role spans from late August through early June, aligning with the school calendar and running Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
You will be an essential part of this students school journeyproviding direct care and support during the school day and on the school bus. Reliable commitment is key, as this position requires you to meet the student at home in Cedar Springs each morning to ride the bus together. Quick interviews are available, and the director has set aside times on July 13th and 15th for conversations to swiftly move qualified candidates forward.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active MI RN or LPN license
- Previous experience with school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Skilled with vent and trach management
- Comfort with one-to-one nursing assignments
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site and commit to the full school year assignment
Responsibilities:
- Administer medical care to the assigned student throughout the school day and during transportation
- Collaborate with educators, district staff, and the students family
- Monitor and manage the students health needs, including routine and emergency care
- Make up hours in the health room if the student is absent
