Make a meaningful impact as a part-time Registered Nurse, working 1:1 with a high school student in a supportive educational environment. This contract position begins August 24, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027. The schedule is reliably structured: 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Youll provide attentive care to a male student who is a quadriplegic, managing specialized equipment including a sip/puff wheelchair, trach, and ventilator, as well as attending to urinary catheterization needs. Your clinical judgment and compassionate approach will be key to supporting his health and participation in the school day.

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Current Illinois RN license in good standing.
  • Previous experience in school nursing required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in trach management, catheterization, and the ability to assist with physical lifting as needed.
  • Critical care background strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Must submit RN license/certification and a resume for consideration.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 skilled nursing care following student medical orders and individualized healthcare plans.
  • Monitor and support respiratory management, including trach and ventilator care.
  • Provide safe administration of medications and perform catheterization as required.

  • Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of care and interventions for compliance and continuity.
