CentralCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as a Physician Extender (NP/PA) and provide full-time services at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico. This is a great opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as a Physician Extender (NP/PA) and support our military and their families as federal civilian contractors (no military experience required).

Physician Extender (NP/PA) Details:
· Experience: Minimum 1 year experience working as an NP/PA in the last 2 years
· Pay Option 1: W2
o $72/hour + $5.09/hour Health and Wellness
o Total Package $77.09/hour W2

o PTO: 80 hours accrued annually

Physician Extender (NP/PA) Responsibilities:
• Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., provide clinical supervision and general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
• Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
• Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
• Complete all DoD and Air Force deployment health, mental health, and period health assessment trainings.
• Conduct Deployment-Related Health Assessments (DRHA) within the designated timeframe in accordance with dafi48-122.
• Assist/conduct all Mental Health Assessments (MHA) pre/post deployment, as well as all non-flyer annual MHAs in accordance with local policy.
• Provide health education and information as applicable.
• Recommend medical referrals/follow-up for deployment-related health concerns as indicated and/or aligned with appropriate Clinical Practice Guidelines.
• Conduct all assessments in a private setting and review health records for any conditions that may impact deployability.
• Complete the provider portion of the DRHA in ASIMS as well as in the EHR.
• Ensure service members have access to comprehensive counseling on the full range of methods for contraception, pregnancy prevention, and menstrual suppression, as applicable, as directed by DHA-PI 6490.03 and DHA-PI 6200.02.
• Prescribe Force Health Protection Prescription Products (FHPPPs) per AFI 44- 102, Medical Care Management and AFMAN 41-209, Medical Logistics Support. FHPPPs are comprised of such products as atropine and/or 2-Pam chloride auto- injectors, certain antimicrobials, anti-malarials, and pyridostigmine bromide. 14 of 38 Page 14 of 38 MQS2-NG Task Order Template Type I Configuration as of 23 September 2025
• Make deployability determination and indicate clearance status in the ASIMS DMC module.
• Update the ASIMS DD Form 2766 in accordance with TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration. 2.14.7.
• Coordinate referrals with deployer’s PCM via telephonic consult, as applicable.
• Capture active component DRHA workload using the provider’s Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System code.
• Complete Health Care Provider portion of medical waiver packages for deployment limiting conditions as dictated by BOMC standard work processes.
• May be required to work various shifts or augment PA/NP support during the absence of other team providers due to illness, leave or deployment.

Bachelor's degree
Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Certifications:
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
Education:
Master's degree in nursing (MSN)
Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Certifications:
Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
BLS
Licensure/Registration:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in any state.
