Step into a vital role supporting elementary students’ health and well-being in a school setting near Trenton, NJ. Embrace the opportunity to work independently as the sole nurse in the building, with an advisory team available for support as needed. This contract assignment runs from September 3, 2026 through June 23, 2026, and offers a steady Monday–Friday schedule, covering 32.5 hours each week.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active New Jersey RN or CSN license (required)
  • Prior experience as a school nurse is preferred
  • Familiarity with Genesis charting system is highly desirable
  • Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergencies
  • Comfortable working autonomously while utilizing district support when needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the elementary school health room, providing direct care to students and staff
  • Administer prescribed medications and offer first aid as necessary
  • Maintain thorough and accurate health records, utilizing the Genesis system
  • Monitor students with chronic health conditions and develop care plans
  • Collaborate with faculty, parents, and outside healthcare providers as needed
  • Promote a healthy and safe environment for the school community
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and district health regulations
