Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team at Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus, a leading skilled nursing facility committed to providing exceptional care to our residents. As a CMA, you will play a crucial role in administering medications, monitoring resident health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. This position offers flexibility with scheduling and is ideal for those looking to work on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
Medication Administration: Accurately administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with facility protocols and physician orders.
Resident Monitoring: Observe and document changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs and any adverse reactions to medications.
Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area, follow infection control procedures, and ensure a hygienic and safe environment.
Resident Support: Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences.
Communication: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure resident needs are met.
Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional relevant training or coursework in healthcare or medication administration is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment, is preferred but not required.
Certifications: Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) as required by Columbus regulations.
Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and build positive relationships with residents and their families.
