House Supervisor (RN) 7a-7p full-time

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, located near beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC, treats adolescents, adults and senior adults in need of psychiatric services, as well as adults who suffer from a chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, or are in need of rehabilitation.  Lighthouse offers 24-hour admissions, needs assessment, and referral services. 

 

 

LBHH is seeking dynamic Nurse Supervisors (RN) for day shift 7:00am - 7:30pm. As Nurse Supervisor you are directly responsible to the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager for quality care to psychiatric patients, residents, family members and all customer groups. Exercises independent judgment supervising the staff involved in providing nursing care and in the oversight of clinical areas during after- hours. Works closely with all members of the treatment team and keeps both the physicians, Administrator-On-Call (AOC) and DON informed of issues that arise. Controls FTEs and arranges staffing for nursing units in accordance with staffing grids, census and patient acuity. Responsible for supervising all nursing service staff and using discretion, handles patient complaints. Works closely with admissions regarding patients being admitted after hours and those being discharged. Oversees all codes and ensures proper documentation.

2-3 years of nursing supervisor experience at minimum

Management/ leadership experience preferred.

Current license in good standing in the State of South Carolina as a Registered Nurse.

Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.

CPI Certification preferred

Possess knowledge of ANA nursing standards and Federal and State guidelines and regulatory agencies.

Must have the ability to work independently.

Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Accuracy in work performance and valuing of documentation are mandatory characteristics.

A Brief Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. What you will do Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by policy along with collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice. Performs appropriate treatments and administrations of medication, immediate and ongoing, as ordered by provider in an accurate and timely manner. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and their family. Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family. Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution. Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols. Maintains confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights. Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to providers and other staff during shift change. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Preferred or Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Preferred Experience Qualifications Previous experience in an acute care setting Required Skills and Abilities Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers. Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
