American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring 2 years of cath lab experience and an active IL RN license. Job details: - Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab of a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital with Magnet designation - 3 Cath Labs performing procedure labs, Cath and EP cases - Case types include diagnostic/interventional cath, LHC/RCH, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders - EP cases include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes - Average daily caseload of 5-15 cases - 10-hour day shifts, 0700-1730, 40 hours per week - On-call required, including weekend rotation (2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) and 4-5 additional weekday overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule - 30-minute response time required for call with no sleep room available - No floating required - Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Philips hemodynamics system, Merge PACS, and Philips c-arm equipment Requirements: - Active IL RN license required - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required - Skilled in moderate sedation using Versed/Fentanyl and critical drip management - Experience monitoring and circulating cath lab cases required - Experience with a wide range of cath lab and EP case types preferred - Epic EMR experience required - Middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration - At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required Additional information: - Support staff in the department includes a Charge RN who participates in cases, a receptionist, Respiratory Therapy, and a Manager/Supervisor, with a Hospitalist/Physician available after hours - Orientation includes facility-level NEO and 1 day on the unit - Possibility of holiday on-call coverage - RTO approval available for up to 7 days - Scrubs are provided - Schedule is built in 6-week increments using self-scheduling with final manager approval - First-time travelers will not be considered for this role - Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for this travel position - No radius restrictions apply and local candidates are accepted at the same rate
