Job Description
The Sr Licensed Vocational Nurse, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, guided by the procedures of the Ambulatory Services and the Ambulatory Services Quality Nursing Division, and in collaboration with the physician staff, had the clinical responsibility for developing and maintaining a high standard of patient care, under the Urology Procedure Center and Urology Faculty Practice. They participate in the planning for the provision of patient care. They provide patient health education teaching for Urology patients across the lifespan, catheter teaching and management skills and clinical support. They collaborate with the Nurse Manager, Administrative Director, and Medical Director to develop monitor and maintain systems pertaining to Urology patients. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily operations. All components of nursing care will be individualized to meet he patient’s physiological and psychosocial developmental level and needs. The Licensed Vocational Nurse consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor and shall comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards.
The Sr Licensed Vocational Nurse will be primarily located at Bayfront, however, must have flexibility to cover multiple UCSF Medical Center sites.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of LVN experience
- Must have 3-5 years of related experience with procedures such as foley catheter insertion
- Must be able to do medication refills, medication and equipment prior authorizations and disability applications
- Excellent EPIC skills
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- 3-5 years of related experience in a urology clinic setting
- California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Must have blood withdraw/ venipuncture certification
