Certified Nurse Assistant-Medication Aide

The Village at Regional West is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented CNA Med Aide to provide quality care and medication assistance to residents in a long-term care setting. This role is essential in supporting residents' health, safety, comfort, and overall well-being. CNA Med Aides are responsible for assisting with daily living activities, administering medications within their scope of practice, and promoting a positive resident experience.

A Day in the Life of 

As a CNA Med Aide, you'll provide direct resident care, assisting with activities of daily. You'll help residents maintain their independence while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.

Your day will also include administering medications as assigned, accurately documenting medications and resident care, and observing residents for changes in condition. You'll communicate important observations to nursing staff and respond appropriately to resident needs.

In addition, you'll assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, support resident activities as needed, and collaborate with other team members to ensure high-quality care and service throughout the Village.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

  • Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare preferred but not required

Certification

  • Certification as a CNA in the State of Nebraska without restrictions
  • Certification as Medication Aide – 40 Hour in the State of Nebraska without restrictions
  • American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers required upon hire

Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout assigned areas for entire shifts
  • Ability to lift, transfer, reposition, push, and pull residents using proper body mechanics and equipment
  • Ability to accurately administer medications and complete required documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership. Qualifications Current North Carolina Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification required. Current North Carolina Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing preferred. Current CPR certification required. Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic health records preferred. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
