This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse looking to make a difference in a one-on-one capacity. For approximately 35 hours per week, you’ll work closely with a student during an assessment period at the California School for the Blind, ensuring individualized care and advocacy throughout this month-long assignment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric healthcare settings preferred
- Background or interest in legal nurse consulting a plus
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in diverse or specialized settings
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to students with unique needs
- CPR Certification
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive, 1:1 care and monitoring to a student during school hours
- Conduct assessments, manage medications, and oversee treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate health documentation in alignment with school and legal requirements
- Serve as a liaison among teachers, parents, and healthcare providers
- Respond to medical emergencies and advocate for student well-being
- Uphold confidentiality and legal standards relevant to student health in an educational environment
