Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsement for Certified School Nurse, or willingness to obtain Short-Term Approval and work toward a PEL with School Nurse Endorsement at ISU, UIC, Lewis University, or similar program within 1-2 years
Experience in school nursing or as an RN in an educational environment is highly desirable
CSN experience and Spanish bilingual skills are strong assets
Strong communication skills, initiative, and reliability
Comfort with technology, including electronic health record documentation and digital management of health-related IEPs and 504 Plans
Willingness to assist with personal care needs for students as part of the school health team
Flexibility, dependability, and a team-centered mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the health office and provide daily support for a diverse student population, including those in multi-needs programs
Conduct medical reviews and participate actively with special education teams in IEP and 504 processes
Document health services efficiently in electronic systems and communicate effectively with staff and families
Support student safety and health throughout the school day, including occasional assistance with personal care needs
Ensure strong attendance and continuity in nursing services throughout the school-year calendar
