Job Description
The incumbent will utilize the nursing process to assess and identify the individual needs of Neurosurgery non-surgical and surgical patients and navigate them through surgical preparation on what the patient should expect pre-operatively and post-operatively. The incumbent’s primary role will be to provide clinical support to all neurosurgery patients and physicians at the Parnassus neurosurgery clinic and the Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Clinic at Weill . This individual supports the standards of the policies and procedures of the Neurosurgery Faculty Practice and is responsible for compliance with all UCSF Ambulatory Services and Medical Center policies and procedures for infection control, safety, administrative and clinical practice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) years of recent ambulatory RN experience in neurology, neurosurgery, movement disorders, or other complex specialty clinics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high patient volume and complex care coordination, including clinical assessment, patient education, telephone/MyChart triage, and appropriate escalation of urgent clinical concerns.
- Experience with pre- and post-procedural care of neurosurgical patients, including coordination and education for patients undergoing complex procedures
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Three (3) years or more of RN clinical experience in-patient neurosurgery
- Three years or more of RN experience with Stroke patients
- CCRN Certification (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
